Restaurant Influencer Collaboration Agreement Template: 7 Things to Get in Writing
Copy a restaurant influencer agreement covering food credit, deliverables, usage rights, paid ads, deadlines, and cancellations.
A restaurant influencer collaboration agreement should settle seven decisions before the visit: who is agreeing, what the restaurant provides, what the food influencer delivers, when each side acts, who owns the work, how the restaurant may use it, and what happens when plans break. Use the finished template below as a business-terms starting point, then have a local attorney adapt it to your campaign and jurisdiction before anyone signs.
If you are still deciding how visits, content, and measurement fit together, start with influencer marketing for restaurants. This page is for the moment after you have chosen a food influencer and need the terms in one place.

Restaurant–food-influencer collaboration agreement
Effective date: [[MONTH DAY, YEAR]]
This collaboration agreement is between [[RESTAURANT LEGAL NAME]], located at [[RESTAURANT ADDRESS]] (the “Restaurant”), and [[INFLUENCER LEGAL NAME]], whose public account is [[HANDLE AND PLATFORM]] (the “Influencer”). Together, they are the “Parties.”
1. Campaign and visit
The Influencer will visit [[RESTAURANT LOCATION]] on [[DATE]] at [[TIME]] to create content about [[CAMPAIGN, MENU ITEM, OPENING, EVENT, OR STORY]]. The Restaurant’s point of contact is [[NAME AND CONTACT METHOD]]. The Influencer’s point of contact is [[NAME AND CONTACT METHOD]].
The Restaurant will give the Influencer, and the Influencer will follow, the attached creative brief covering [[DISHES, STORY POINTS, REQUIRED SHOTS, WORDS OR CLAIMS TO AVOID, AND BRAND DETAILS]]. A brief should provide the restaurant’s story and useful facts without scripting the Influencer’s personal opinion.
2. What the Restaurant provides
The Restaurant will provide a food credit of [[AMOUNT]], which [[INCLUDES / EXCLUDES]] alcohol, tax, and tip. The Influencer is responsible for [[ANY SPEND ABOVE THE CREDIT / TIP / OTHER EXCLUDED CHARGES]]. Staff will receive the visit date, the Influencer’s name or agreed check-in identifier, the credit amount, and instructions for applying it before the visit. A food credit and an optional paid-partnership bonus are different forms of compensation and should be recorded separately.
Cash fee for the organic deliverables: [[NONE / AMOUNT, PAYMENT METHOD, INVOICE REQUIREMENT, AND DUE DATE]].
Paid-partnership bonus, if Section 6 is activated: [[NONE / AMOUNT, PAYMENT METHOD, AND DUE DATE AFTER PERMISSION IS CONFIRMED]].
No payment or food credit is conditioned on a positive opinion, star rating, or customer review. The required work is the visit and the specific content listed below.
3. What the Influencer delivers
The Influencer will provide all of the following:
[[NUMBER, FORMAT, LENGTH, ORIENTATION, AND PLATFORM FOR EACH POST]][[NUMBER AND FORMAT OF FINISHED FILES DELIVERED TO THE RESTAURANT]][[NUMBER OR DESCRIPTION OF RAW VIDEO CLIPS / PHOTOS, IF REQUIRED]][[CAPTION REQUIREMENTS, RESTAURANT TAG, LOCATION TAG, LINK, OR PROMO CODE]][[DISCLOSURE WORDING OR METHOD APPROVED FOR THIS CAMPAIGN]]
The public post is due by [[DATE AND TIME WITH TIME ZONE]]. Finished files and raw footage are due by [[DATE AND TIME WITH TIME ZONE]] through [[UPLOAD LINK OR DELIVERY METHOD]]. A posted link does not substitute for the files, and delivered files do not substitute for the promised post.
The Restaurant will accept the work when every listed post is live, every required file opens, the technical specifications match, the agreed disclosures and tags appear, and the content does not contain a factual error about the Restaurant.
4. Review, corrections, and deadline
The Restaurant may request [[NUMBER]] correction round within [[REVIEW WINDOW]] for a missing agreed shot, wrong restaurant fact, missing disclosure or tag, broken file, or failure to meet a listed technical requirement. The Restaurant will not require the Influencer to state an opinion they do not hold.
The Influencer will return the corrected post or file by [[CORRECTION DEADLINE]]. Silence from the Restaurant does not change the deadline unless both Parties agree in writing.
5. Ownership and the Restaurant’s commercial license
The Influencer keeps ownership of the original content and raw footage. Ownership is not transferred to the Restaurant.
The Influencer grants the Restaurant a [[NONEXCLUSIVE / EXCLUSIVE]], [[TERRITORY]], [[TERM]], [[ROYALTY-FREE AFTER THE COMPENSATION ABOVE / OTHER PAYMENT TERMS]] license to use the accepted files in these places only: [[RESTAURANT WEBSITE, EMAIL, ORGANIC SOCIAL, IN-STORE SCREENS, RESTAURANT-ACCOUNT PAID ADS, OR OTHER NAMED MEDIA]].
The license [[DOES / DOES NOT]] let the Restaurant crop, resize, add captions or branding, excerpt clips, combine clips, and make shorter versions. The license [[DOES / DOES NOT]] let the Restaurant give the files to [[ITS AD AGENCY / NAMED VENDORS]] only to make and place the Restaurant’s marketing. A short cut of a longer video is a derivative work, so editing permission must be explicit rather than assumed.
The Influencer will identify music, footage, logos, people, or other material in the content that the Influencer does not control. The Restaurant may remove or replace those elements in its versions. This agreement does not grant either Party rights that a third party owns.
6. Separate permission for a paid partnership ad
The Section 5 license does not by itself authorize the Restaurant to run an ad from the Influencer’s social account. The Influencer gives that separate permission only if this box is selected: [[YES / NO]].
If yes, the Influencer will complete the platform’s required approval step for [[ACCOUNT / POST]] by [[DATE]] and allow the Restaurant or its named agency, [[NAME]], to promote the content from the Influencer’s account from [[START DATE]] through [[END DATE]]. The Restaurant will pay the Section 2 paid-partnership bonus after [[THE PLATFORM PERMISSION IS ACTIVE / OTHER AGREED MILESTONE]]. Paid-partnership permission is separate from content ownership and the Restaurant’s commercial license.
7. Disclosure, changes, cancellations, and signatures
The Influencer will clearly disclose the material connection to the Restaurant in each required post using the wording and placement approved for this campaign in Section 3. Each Party remains responsible for following the laws and platform rules that apply to its own actions. [[LOCAL COUNSEL: REPLACE OR EXPAND THIS DISCLOSURE TERM FOR THE CAMPAIGN, PLATFORM, AND JURISDICTION.]]
Either Party may request one reschedule by notifying the other at least [[NOTICE PERIOD]] before the visit. If the Influencer does not arrive and the Parties do not agree to a new date, the food credit expires and no undelivered-work payment is due. If the Restaurant cancels, the Parties will [[RESCHEDULE / PAY THE AGREED CANCELLATION AMOUNT / REIMBURSE LISTED, DOCUMENTED TRAVEL COSTS]].
If required work is late or incomplete, the Restaurant will send written notice listing what is missing and give the Influencer until [[CURE DEADLINE]] to deliver it. If the deadline passes, [[CHOOSE THE AGREED RESULT: CANCEL THE UNPAID CASH FEE; CANCEL THE UNUSED PAID-PARTNERSHIP BONUS; REQUIRE RETURN OF THE UNUSED CREDIT; OR ANOTHER COUNSEL-APPROVED RESULT]]. The Restaurant will not publish or advertise with rejected files.
Changes to the deliverables, compensation, deadlines, license, or paid-partnership permission must be accepted in writing by both Parties. [[LOCAL COUNSEL: ADD THE GOVERNING LAW, NOTICES, INDEPENDENT-CONTRACTOR, LIABILITY, ENTIRE-AGREEMENT, ELECTRONIC-SIGNATURE, AND ANY OTHER TERMS NEEDED FOR THIS DEAL.]]

Completed example: a comped visit with optional paid use
This fictional example shows the decisions that cannot remain blank. It is not a recommended price, license length, or legal form for every restaurant.
| Agreement field | Completed example |
|---|---|
| Parties and visit | Fictional Sample Restaurant LLC and Fictional Sample Influencer; downtown location; October 8, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.; fall dinner menu; both use the shared booking thread for notices |
| Restaurant provides | $75 food credit; alcohol, tax, and tip excluded; Influencer pays those charges and any amount above the credit |
| Organic work | One 90-second vertical Instagram Reel, the final MP4, and all raw clips showing the dishes named in the attached brief; caption tags the fictional restaurant account and states that the Restaurant provided the meal in exchange for the video |
| Deadline and acceptance | Reel, final file, and raw clips due October 11, 2026, through the shared upload folder; Restaurant checks the live Reel, disclosure, tag, working file, raw clips, and agreed shots |
| Corrections | One correction list sent within one business day after delivery; corrected files due one business day later; corrections limited to missing agreed items, factual errors, disclosure, tags, or broken files |
| Ownership and license | Influencer keeps ownership; Restaurant receives a nonexclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to use and edit the accepted files on its website, email, organic social accounts, in-store screens, and ads from the Restaurant’s own account |
| Paid partnership | No permission at signing. If both Parties later sign an addendum naming the account, post, run dates, and platform approval step, the separately listed $100 bonus is paid after the permission becomes active |
| Missed visit or missing files | Either Party may request one reschedule by noon on October 7, 2026. Otherwise the credit expires after an Influencer no-show. Missing work gets written notice and a final deadline of October 13, 2026, before the unpaid fee or unused bonus is canceled |
| Disclosure and legal review | Before signing, local counsel reviews the sample disclosure sentence, applicable campaign rules, and the governing-law and signature terms; the final approved wording replaces the counsel placeholders |
The food-credit and follow-up timing in this example mirror a documented restaurant workflow, where the visit credit is confirmed before arrival and the file request gives the Influencer 72 hours. The ownership and license example is deliberately separate from paid-partnership permission: food influencers keep their intellectual property, while commercial usage and promotion from the influencer’s account are different permissions.
Use the short form for a defined visit, not an open-ended relationship
This template fits one restaurant, one food influencer, one visit, and a fixed set of posts and files. Use a campaign-specific agreement instead when the work involves a minor, an employee relationship, regulated products, broad exclusivity, a long-running spokesperson role, large production costs, or rights you cannot describe in a few precise lines.
Do not replace the agreement with a DM that says “one Reel for dinner.” That message leaves out the file itself, raw footage, the due date, edit rights, third-party music, paid use, and the recovery step if the visit or delivery fails. The practical difference between a post and a reusable asset is the written permission to keep, edit, and use the file.
Once the influencer expresses interest, send the complete agreement before confirming the reservation.
A signed agreement succeeds only when staff and the Influencer receive the same plan
Successful use means four things exist before the visit: both signatures, a staff note with the correct credit, a short creative brief, and a confirmed arrival plan. A restaurant workflow can place the credit in a wallet pass and send the brief with the booking confirmation so the Influencer and staff see the same visit details.
Your brief should name the dishes, story, and shots that matter without dictating every word. Shorter briefs tend to produce better videos because the Influencer still has room to make something that fits their audience.
After the visit, check the post and every required file against Section 3 before marking the work accepted. If something is missing, send one written list tied to the agreement and use the correction deadline. Do not start paid use until the commercial license covers that use and, for a partnership ad from the Influencer’s account, the separate permission is active.
The follow-up system keeps a signed agreement from becoming a forgotten file
The agreement sets expectations; reminders and status checks get the promised work delivered. One documented workflow confirms the booking, asks for confirmation before the visit, follows up after the meal, and sends later file reminders when needed. The seven-step loop behind every influencer visit shows how those handoffs fit together.
If you are deciding what belongs in food credit, a cash fee, or a separate paid-use bonus, see how local food influencers get paid. Write each payment beside the exact work or permission that earns it.
