Food Influencer No-Shows: Seven Texts From Booking to Final File

Seven copyable texts help restaurants confirm influencer visits, handle reschedules and no-shows, and collect the promised files afterward.

Seven texts cannot stop every food influencer no-show, but a sequence at booking, before the visit, and after the scheduled time can turn an uncertain appointment into a confirmed, rescheduled, canceled, no-show, or completed record. The first three messages protect the visit; the last four verify what happened and recover the promised content without treating a confirmation as attendance.

This sequence covers one operational piece of a complete restaurant influencer marketing program. It is for approved food influencers coordinating an agreed restaurant visit, not a guest promotional-text campaign.

Before Text 1, approve the influencer and prepare the restaurant

Send the sequence only after you approve the influencer, write the visit terms, and open a booking your staff can see. A legacy missed-visit message once let an unapproved applicant reschedule and arrive asking for a $75 credit, leaving the staff to sort it out at the door.

Before the first message, record:

You control the food credit, and the visit record should tell staff who is coming and what to apply. Staff also need a same-day view of scheduled visits; one Remy restaurant added a morning summary and shared calendar after an unexpected influencer visit went wrong.

Do not treat these templates as a blanket permission rule for SMS. Document why this influencer may receive operational visit messages through the chosen channel, then check the current federal, state, provider, and platform rules that apply to your setup. If an influencer opts out, stop future attempts and add them to suppression before another send; keep this process separate from promotional messages to restaurant guests.

Record message delivery separately from the visit

A delivered text is not proof that the influencer read it, and a YES is not proof that they arrived. Keep the message state and visit state in separate fields.

StateWhat it means
AttemptedYour system or team started a send attempt
SentThe provider accepted the message for delivery
DeliveredThe provider reported delivery; this does not prove a human read it
FailedThe provider returned a failure rather than delivery
Pending or unknownNo final delivery result has been reconciled
Opted outThe influencer asked not to receive further messages through that channel
SuppressedThe record was removed before a send attempt, including a prior opt-out
ConfirmedThe influencer replied YES to the current visit
RescheduledA new time was requested and approved
CanceledThe visit was closed before the scheduled time
No-showThe visit time elapsed and reconciled records show the influencer did not attend
Completed visitStaff or the approved visit record verified in-person attendance

For every send, retain the trigger time, message version, attempted time, provider status, reply, and resulting visit state. A failed or pending message needs attention; it must not quietly enter a delivered-message count.

Text 1: Send the booking record immediately

The booking confirmation gives the influencer and restaurant the same date, terms, pass, and creative brief before either side plans around the visit. Remy's documented sequence sends this first message when the visit is booked.

Hi [First name], you're booked at [Restaurant] on [Day, date] at [Time] for [Guest count]. Your food credit is [Amount] for [Eligible items; exclusions]. Save your visit pass here: [Pass link]. Your brief is here: [Brief link]. Reply if any detail is wrong.

This is also why most influencer-program work happens after approval: the booking only starts confirmation, attendance, and file follow-up.

Text 2: Ask for YES one day before the visit

The one-day confirmation forces the booking into confirmed, reschedule requested, canceled, or no reply before your team sets the table. Remy's documented wording asks the influencer to reply YES or request a different time.

Hi [First name], your visit to [Restaurant] is tomorrow at [Time]. Reply YES to confirm, RESCHEDULE to request another time, or CANCEL if you cannot come. If we do not hear from you by [Cutoff], we will cancel this visit so the restaurant can plan service.

“Before they visit, they have to type YES to confirm that they're coming.”Remy team member, July 2026

Text 3: Send the pass and directions one hour before arrival

The one-hour reminder removes the last easy causes of a missed visit: forgotten time, missing pass, and unclear directions. Send it only to a currently confirmed booking.

Hi [First name], see you in one hour at [Restaurant], [Address]. Open your visit pass when you arrive: [Pass link]. Directions: [Google Maps link]. If you can no longer make it, reply CANCEL now.

Text 4: Reconcile the visit two hours after the scheduled time

The two-hour follow-up asks what happened and opens the file deadline only after the visit can be checked. Remy's sequence follows up a couple of hours after the scheduled visit and requests the content within 72 hours.

Hi [First name], were you able to visit [Restaurant] today? Reply VISITED, MISSED, or RESCHEDULE. If you visited, please send your reel and promised files by [Deadline] here: [Upload link]. Your brief is here: [Brief link]. Any paid-partnership bonus is triggered only if the restaurant actually runs the content as a paid partnership ad under the written terms.

Text 5: Check for a blocker at 48 hours

The 48-hour check-in gives the influencer a chance to surface a file or deadline problem before the submission window closes. Send it only when the verified visit is complete and the required delivery is still open.

Hi [First name], quick check-in: your [Reel and files] are due [Deadline]. Do you have everything you need? Reply HELP if something is blocking you, or upload them here: [Upload link].

Text 6: Name the missing file after one week

The one-week nudge should name exactly what remains missing instead of sending another generic reminder. Remy's documented sequence sends this follow-up one week after the visit when content has not arrived.

Hi [First name], we have not received [Missing item] from your [Visit date] visit. Please upload it here: [Upload link], or reply with the issue and the date you can deliver it.

Text 7: Close the file chase after two weeks

The two-week final notice gives one last written deadline and closes future eligibility under the terms if the delivery never arrives. Remy's documented sequence uses this point to end the chase rather than remind forever.

Hi [First name], final reminder: please send [Missing item] by [Final deadline] here: [Upload link]. If we do not receive it, we will close this content record and remove eligibility for future opportunities under our written terms. Reply before the deadline if there is an issue we should review.

If the recurring problem starts with unsolicited meal requests, use this copyable reply for a food influencer asking for a free meal before changing the reminder sequence.

Measure what happened without claiming the texts caused it

Track message and visit states for each eligible booking, then compare equal periods without calling a before-and-after difference causal proof. The packet provides the workflow, not a measured no-show reduction from these seven texts.

For confirmation, count only delivered unique recipients whose reply cutoff elapsed and whose reply outcome is reconciled and known. Confirmed recipients are a subset of that group; failed, pending, opted-out, and suppressed records remain separate.

For no-shows, use eligible scheduled visits whose arrival window fully elapsed and whose visit outcome was reconciled and known. No-shows are a subset of that same group; completed visits are the other successful attendance state, while cancellations, reschedules, and unresolved visits stay separate. A lower observed no-show share can justify continuing the process, but it does not prove the messages alone caused the change.

Remy automates the repeated middle, not the owner's judgment

Once the sequence is written, the repetitive work is sending it, sorting simple replies, reopening a booking after an approved reschedule, and chasing files on time. Remy automates those steps while you still approve influencers, set availability and terms, handle exceptions, and decide whether content is acceptable.

Remy is $300 a month per location: $150 for Remy and $150 for creator recruitment ad spend. Dining credit and any separately agreed influencer compensation are additional. The system cannot guarantee that every confirmed influencer will attend or deliver.
